Getting Started (7 steps)
- Authenticate: log in or register a free account.
- Add domains: paste into Domain Entry, one per line.
- Pick a mode: Fast (£10) / Multi (£25) / Single (£50).
- Submit: click ADD TO ENGINE. Domains appear in Current Queue.
- Watch outcomes: results appear in Last Events after the drop.
- Pay on catch: PAY £xx button on successful catches.
- Receive domain: VAT invoice emailed; domain transfers to your TAG.
How dropcatching works
Domains expire ~90 days after non-renewal. At the scheduled drop instant, registrars race via EPP. The Transcom engine uses pre-warmed sockets with NTP clock sync to sub-millisecond accuracy. First-write wins.
Glossary
- TAG
- Nominet Internet Provider Service tag identifying the holding registrar.
- EPP
- Extensible Provisioning Protocol used for domain transactions.
- RDAP
- Registration Data Access Protocol, modern WHOIS replacement.
- Drop
- The instant an expired domain is released by Nominet.
- SLD
- Second-Level Domain — the part before the TLD.
